Picture Magnets

I was trying to think of a nice Christmas gift for the parents this year: my husband's and mine. My sister-in-law told me about a website that does picture magnets. However, they were over $4 a piece! So, my husband said to just make my own. I wasn't too keen on the idea, because magnetic sheets aren't super cheap and I wouldn't even know where to find them! So I checked at the dollar store and found some vent covers that are basically magnetic sheets! I printed off the wallet sized pictures at Wal-Mart and I got to work!

Here is the stuff you will need:

a magnetic sheet (or vent cover from the dollar store)
wallet-size pictures (10 will fit on a sheet)
tape
mod podge
foam brush

Put a piece of tape on the back of each picture, just to give it a little extra stick. I would have preferred to use double sided tape, but I just had regular tape.

Take your foam brush and your mod podge and glue the back of each picture, working around the tape.

Stick the pictures to your magnetic sheet, and wait a little bit to let it dry.

Then get your foam brush and paint your mod podge over the pictures. I like the look it gives the pictures, and it makes it stick even more. Don't freak out when your picture looks like this, you haven't ruined them. It dries clear.

And there you go! Awesome picture magnets! Our fridge was in desperate need of magnets anyway, so I made some for myself. And mine and Jimmy's parents are going to love them for Christmas this year!
